It's always nice to dress up. That is, dress up our little ones for Easter! Today I'd like to show off a girl's dress and a boy's set of shorts and shirt, both very appropriate for the occasion.
The dress is made from a pattern called “button bib dress” from Sew Beautiful magazine (Issue No. 146, Jan/Feb 2013). I used satin stripe dotted Swiss cotton and batiste, both from Spechler & Vogel. It has some shadow work done on the front and some Swiss lace adorning the bib.
For those who have never done shadow work, I highly recommend instructions from Wendy Poche Schoen's Mastering Shadow Work Embroidery. It is a great book and a very helpful tool in obtaining beautiful embroidery.
The boy's set consists of shorts (from my own pattern) made in pale blue pure cotton pique and adorned with piping. The accompanying back-buttoned shirt with Peter Pan collar (pattern "Will" from Collars, Etc.) also has matching piping and is monogrammed in
pale blue to add a little formality to the set.

I hope you have a very enjoyable Easter season!
